The main purpose of a non anesthetic dental scaling is to maintain your pets oral health in between deep anesthetic dental cleanings with your pets primary veterinarian. To prevent periodontal disease which is a major leading cause to other diseases such as heart, kidney and liver disease. 

Non anesthetic dental scalings are to prevent not cure! Dental cleanings are recommended every 6 months just like humans and yearly oral examinations should be done to ensure your pets oral health is in good condition. 

A non anesthetic scaling is provided when your pet does not have any stages of periodontal disease. Please remember the main purpose is to prevent not cure.
